13. The violence in TJ is over-rated. People don't mess with you unless you're a big time player. They don't have time for small fries. I was there for 3 months, saw people walk at night like nothing, kids, men, women all ages. The only way you get shot is if you're a rival drug dealer. I don't remember reading about many innocent people getting shot or killed. Who would want to be a vago in a place packed with cops and soldiers? I seen more gangsters in my small town in the US than I did in TJ.

17. @britainfan4lyf dont. tijuana is a big city but not a good tourist destination. there are way better and SAFER destinations throughout mexico...in fact tijuana is one of the most dangerous.

20. @rusty1491 Border towns are having some tough times recently. I think it's better to see the other parts of Mexico too because it also changes your perception that Mexico is just one big border city. I like the southern tropics and beaches are real nice on the carribean side. Its cool that Americans can just visit a totally different culture and enviroment thats not far or expensive but even then we all need to use our common sense when traveling.
